Paihia is located in the sunny Bay of Islands, approximately 3 hours’ drive north of Auckland. Waitangi, “the birthplace of a nation” is located a short distance from The Bay of Islands Gateway Motel & Apartments. The bay itself is home to more than 100 islands, a stunning marine paradise with beautiful beaches and native Kauri forests close by.
Take the passenger ferry from Paihia Wharf across to Russell and immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of this picturesque township. For those guests with cars you can access the car ferry from Opua.
